Gloucester

Today James and I went to Gloucester because I wanted to see the Catherdral. Last time I was in Englnad, Ben tried to take me to Gloucester Catherdra because it was where a bit in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was filmed, but when we got there the Cathedral was closed because of some school program or something. :( This time when we went, it was open, which made me very happy. I even donated some money to the preservation of the Cathedral (which is recommended since there are no formal admission prices).

Here are pictures of the hall ways of the Cathedral. You may or may not recognize them. Somwhere within these hallways was where Harry Potter was filmed--the bit in the Chamber of Secrets where Harry comes across Mrs. Norris(the cat) and Nearly Headless Nick(the ghost), with the writting in blood on the castle wall:

The Cathedral was also full of these very decedant Windows:

James, standing outside a door; there were many doors and passageways, many of which are closed now because it's unsafe:

The outside coutyard, which were beautiful to be in, especially when today wasn't too cold of a winter's day:

Some more decedant windows:

This window pane I found interesting cause it reminded me of the Baptismal Font in the Temple:

Here's a Rapier from the 16th century:
The Old British Flags, which are actually rotting away(probably because of those light fixtures):
James, next to a Tomb Plaque. I found it interesting because I recognized some pretty big names from history on there:

There was also a spot where you could light a candle, as an act of prayer. I did one. I felt very spiritual in the moment:

Next to the cathedral was an old tudor house, that looked like it has been left alone(no work done to it) since it was built. Cool building, faded and somewhat a mess, but I find it interesting so I took a picture:
After that we wandered around the shops in Gloucester. We went into HMV, Ann Summers, and there was a WHSmith shop, that's kind of like boarders. We shopped around at WHSmith, just browsing and I took some pictures of books on display that I thought were funny books:

We also stopped into a shoe shop called TReds, where they had converse shoes for a REALLY good price, so James bought me a pair of bright blue cons for an early birthday presents, cause he knows I need new cons.

In HMV, we also bought(went 50/50 on) a Blu-Ray disk of Scott Pilgram vs. The World. James has a PS3 that plays blu-ray and the Vidlers are due to get a new HD-TV by Monday, so we can watch it in High Def.
After we got home from Gloucester, we relaxed, I cleaned up our room(at least my stuff), and then we had dinner. Sam has a friend sleeping over tonight, so we actually all sat down and ate together at the table....well, except for Harry. As soon as his plate was served, he started eating and then pissed off as soon as he was done(which was barely after everyone got served).
After dinner, some more beer pong ensued, because Sam and his friend Monroe wanted to play. :P
Now James and I are about to tuck in and watch Role Models before heading off to bed. Tomorrow is New Years and for those who censor my blog for their own spiritual well being....I'll cover all the stuff during the day first, but as soon as I tell you about going into town for the evening, I suggest you stop reading because there will be lots of drinking involved.

oh! something i forgot to mention for "yesterday's" post was I got my first Royal Mail! I'm offically British. ;P
It was a letter and package from Steven and Jeni. They sent me their Christmas card and a set of Handpainted "LOVE">
In any case, thanks for the blocks guys.

Cini-Day

Sorry about not posting a blog yesterday, we had problems connecting to the internet because Harry's always on his Mac, which buggers up everything. ….you'll just get 2 short blogs today.

So, yesterday James and I went into Worcester to meet up with Russell and Chris Norton(another friend I met LONG time ago at a house party I went to in England 2 summers ago--he's gotten effing TALL! He's like a tree now, I sware...anyway....).

Before we left, we got ready, took a shower, and while James was in the shower, Harry stole James' Sat Nav and left the house. He didn't wait for James to get out of the shower, he just took it and left. So, we had to call Harry, and make him bring back the Sat Nav, because we needed it to travel to Worcester because James wouldn't otherwise know where he was going.

Harry dropped off the Sat Nav at the hotel, so we picked it up there (after James made up a nice Full English Breakfast), and we were on our way to Worcester. We got there early, found parking right away, so we just wandered about for a hour before meeting up with Chris and Russ at the Cinema. We got tickets to see Tron, for later on, then we went to Weatherspoons, had a drink and some food.
Here's Russell and Chris having an arm wrestling contest in 'Spoons':

I paid for lunch, James paid for the Cinema, and Russ paid for his and Chris' stuff. I think it was a fair cop. :) Oh….and James paid for popcorn, whist I snuck in candy. Good deal :P

Tron was okay, but the kind of cool thing is that we saw it in 3D, which I've never seen anything 3D before, so it was an entirely new experience for me.

When we got home we had some dinner, and watched Holiday Inn, which I think James liked. Probably not as much as White Christmas(James did really liked Danny Kaye), but there were a few laugh out loud moments for him (ie: when the cars get stuck in the lake on purpose).

Well, don't know what we'll get up to today, but I'll let you know about it later.

A day in Brum (Birmingham)

After playing massive amounts of beer pong last night, James and I couldn't be bothered to finish watching Inception with the family, so we headed up to bed and crashed.

This morning we slept til like 11, then got up, got ready and headed out to Birmingham to do some 'January Sales Shopping'...the shopping sales after Christmas.

Coming into Birmingham was a nightmare in traffic. Absolutely horrible. And it didn't help that James was massively tired as well. I tought he would just 'wake up' from being sleepy, but he never did and poor James had to endure me dragging him about shopping for 3 hours. I apologized, but I did treat him right.

We went to Woktastic, this sushi bar, which was FANTASTIC!, and I paid for everything including James' meal and beer.

OMG it's so goooooooood.

The Conveyer belt of sushi, that takes 2 minutes to go round and round.

"The Bull Ring", where we went shopping (which actually was the same place Russell and I went shopping in the summer last year), was PACKED! It was so full we could barely move around; it was worse than our mall being packed at Christmas....and this place was HUGE--3 stories and bigger in length than our Westfeild mall. Still, James bore with me and shopped.
We went to a bunch of places just browsing around, but I bought a jumper at a shop called 'Next', and then I bought some stockings and a book from 'Ann Summers', which is like our 'Victoria Secret'. And after shopping, before we got back to the car I bought James a large Mocha, coffee so he could wake up.
When we got home we chilled for a bit, watched some Treasure Planet, and played some more beer pong before watching some TV and heading to bed.
Tomorrow we have some good stuff in store....meeting Russell to go see Tron at the cinema. Tell you all about it tomorrow! Goodnight!

Relax Day

Last Night after '500 Days of Summer' James and I watched 'Kick-Ass'. I fell asleep halfway through the movie, but woke up around the end of it. Then James went down stairs for a bit, but he came back and cuddled me to sleep.

We had a nice lay in until 11 or 12 this morning, then James made me breakfast and we discussed where we wanted to go. We decided to go to Tintern Abbey, which is this old ruined church in Wales.

When we got there, though, it was closed due to all the ice and slush around the castle. It was seen as unfit to wander about.

So, instead James and I wandered around a nearby Welsh town, Monmouth.

We found a pharmacy to get some pills and supplements that I wanted and visited a coffee shop call Costa, kind of like our Starbuck but more quaint and European. After that we went to the store to pick up some groceries so I could cook for the family.

We saw a pub called 'Robin Hood'. SO COOL!

The old Gatehouse in Monmouth.

A Frozen part of the river Wye. ....with cones stuck into it. :P

Help Help! I'm being attacked by killer ducks!

We found a pharmacy to get some pills and supplements that I wanted and visited a coffee shop call Costa, kind of like our Starbuck but more quaint and European. After that we went to the store to pick up some groceries so I could cook for the family.

We got home, relaxed for a bit, then I began cooking. I cooked Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo. Since I'm not used to the Vidler's kitchen(electric stove instead of gas, that sort of thing) the noodles were overcooked (cause I never saw them ACTUALLY boil), the chicken was different(Cause James cooked them, not my mom's way of cooking them that I'm used to), and the Sauce was thicker since I used Double Cream. But overall it was alright. The only thing really didn't mess up was broccoli. Meh, it was okay but the Vidlers liked it at least.

After dinner, James had his Chelsea Football match to watch. I didn't feel much for watching a football match so I went upstairs and had a nice long bath--Epsom salts, body scrub, coconut lotion….the good stuff that James gave me for Christmas. I sat up in the hot bath for a good house relaxing, and drinking some Smirnoff to relax. It worked; I felt good and relaxed. It even got too hot in the bath for me, so I opened up the window a bit and let the cool winter air come in. It felt really nice.

After my bath I went downstairs and found James upset over the game, his team was losing. :( After that I tried relaxing him for a bit, then I taught him and Sam how to play the American Game 'Beer Pong'.

James and I played a game, then James and Sam played a game, then Sam and I played a game. It was quite funny watching Sam play because he's young and hasn't drank much in a short period of time before. I got completely drunk, because I had a whole litre of Smirnoff then 2 bottles of Cider and some Malibu, but I felt niiice, A nice, relaxing , care free night. :)
Now we're all watching Inception, but I'll soon be off to bed. See you all tomorrow!
