Another Blog? with Pictures of our new flat?!

Didn’t expect another blog so soon did ya? Well, Things are going well. I had my first day of work, and now James and I are at his mum’s house doing laundry, catching up on TV programs, and hacking the internet.

Work today went well. The Retail store I work for, Store Twenty One, is a nice quiet little clothes etc shop. There was only me, another new girl and the manager, Alice, on today. It’s a Sunday so store hours are less and it’s less busy. Alice showed us around the store and a few procedural things, like signing in and out, and then sent us to do some tasks around the store. Basically I price checked things, and labeled all the new sale items; then for the last hour just straightened up the store, putting things in order, etc. So, pretty easy first day. And I’m working again on Tuesday and Friday. Now All I need to do it sort out a bank account so that they can pay me.

On my break, 20 min break, I even popped in to see my husband since he’s only 3 shops up the high street from me and I had a cream tea—very yummy: a scone with clotted cream and strawberry jam, and tea—on my break.

Now, had a bit of dinner, and chilling out watching the new Doctor Who and Idiot Abroad TV programs. And now the long anticipated pictures of our new flat!:

Here's the outside view of our flat.

This is the view from our front door--a courtyard with astro turf and an archway to more flats.

This is again the courtyard area, but from our 2nd story, livingroom window.

Here's our living room; complete with table, table lamp, couch, coffee table, bookshelf, Tv and TV stand.

This is our kitchen, which is also upstairs and is basically the same room as the living room--the kitchen area is just a seperate little unit. You can see we have our refrigerator, some nice counter space where we have a microwave, kettle and toaster, the sink, a little drying rack by the sink, small stove top and over on the back wall, and we bought a little fruit and veg multi-tiered basket stand thing that we use quite alot.

Here's our wonky staircase.

The bathroom, small, standard. We made it our own by getting a little storage unit, a toilet paper storage stand, and a scale and wall fixed medicine cabinet(which you can't see in this picture).

Our very messy bedroom, still sorting things out. On the left is my new dresser, and on the right is the old dressing table from the Dam Barn.

The cute little laundry bins we got. They're quite handy to take to mum's to do our laundry because it's just fabric bins with medal rads that hook onto the metal stand. Light and easy to carry into the car on the way to mum's.

Here's Jame's Side of the room: The Bed, The bedside table we got at a carity shop for 25 pounds, and the cute lamp we got at, my now current place of business (we bought this lamp, then as we were leaving James saw the 'applicants wanted' sign in the window).

And that's it really. Not too much left to finish our place for now. We still have to get a hold of Rob, the guy who helped us move most of our furniture into the flat, and see when he can help us move our Dining table and James' wardrobe into our flat.

So there ya go. Pictures galore. Any other requests and I'll take pictures of that, but that's the overview for now.
